How the practicum experience helped in developing an appreciation for nursing scholarship
A practicum exists to help nursing students apply the lessons they learn in class to their field of study (Kaihlanen et al., 2021). In other words, students in a practicum experience apply the theoretical knowledge learned in class to solve real-world problems. There are several ways through which my practicum participation throughout this program has helped me to develop an appreciation for nursing scholarship. For instance, the practicum experience gave me exposure to real-world challenges in actual practice settings, which helped me to appreciate the need for using evidence-based approaches in addressing health issues. Additionally, the practicum experience inspired me to stay updated with the current research on how to improve the quality of care.
My practicum experience exposed me
to complex health situations.
This ignited my desire to participate
in research and recommend
evidence-based interventions.
Sometimes, current healthcare knowledge
is insufficient for patient needs
(Andrew et al., 2022).
Additionally, the practicum helped me
appreciate nursing scholarship.
It oriented me to interdisciplinary collaboration.
Through interactions with diverse professionals,
I stayed informed about the latest
research findings to improve care outcomes.
How the practicum experience helped in developing an appreciation for nursing scholarship
Ultimately, my practicum experience
highlighted the role of nursing scholarship.
It helped me keep up
with advancements in healthcare practices
(Andrew et al., 2022).
This emphasizes the importance
of lifelong learning.
It improves the quality of care
and health outcomes for patients.
How will you incorporate scholarship into your future nursing practice?
I intend to incorporate nursing scholarship in several ways in my future practice. First, develop a habit of reading nursing journals and publications regularly in the spirit of lifelong learning. Additionally, I will incorporate scholarship by being an active contributor to research projects to address the complex challenges in healthcare. APA
